Site Enabled

The website is back up. No reason for why it went down, or why it came back up. Disconcerting, but at least it's available now.

Site Disabled

Google disabled The BRIDGE Bible Website with no warning and little recourse. Please be patient and stay tuned.

2nd Printing & Philippians Images

A second printing was produced, using a different format (1 perfect bound volume, 8.5 x 11 inches, 2 columns, 500 pages). Also, interior images of the various Philippians editions were created, offering a quick view (sneak peek) for each format.

Samples, Samples, Samples

A large selection of samples is now available on The BRIDGE Bible website. There is a new page called "Examples" which has several small demo files (2-8 pages, generally) showing some possible "editions". There is another section that provides some further examples using the entire book of Philippians, under "Products". These are designed to show the flexibility and potential of The BRIDGE Bible for serving a wide variety of purposes. Please use the information located on the "About" page to provide comments and feedback. Thank you.

Formatting Fixes & Enchancements

Corrected and added several formatting features, such as converting endnotes (text notes) to footnotes when footnotes aren't used and removing bold font and tabs from footnotes when only one footnote is being used. Also fixed WEB poetry and restored 2 column option. These are subtle but significant improvements, factoring into new examples.

Full Public Domain Versions Posted

The first complete public domain versions have now been uploaded to the website, along with three standalone concordances. They're not perfect, but they're available. In addition, the website has been expanded with a lot of additional information.

WEB Import Error Fixed

There was a critical and elusive WEB import error, resulting in dropped (missing) verses. That has now been resolved, and further development based on the WEB version can continue. The immediate goal is to create a public domain edition of The BRIDGE Bible to show and to share.

Config Source Feature Added

This enables easy, seamless switching between different source texts. Previously, the underlying queries had to be manually edited. Now a simple configuration option changes them automatically, and also updates the copyright page with the source text info. This is a key feature for supporting ongoing development.

Dodson Lexicon Now Available

It's working in principle and looks great. A new sample is now available using the WEB translation and the RP 2005 Greek text (see the new definitions in the Index). Unfortunately, there are still too many bugs and disconnects to upload the full edition. Once enough of those are resolved, a complete public domain sample will be posted. Also, the margins can now be set independently.

Majority Text Now Available

A Majority Text (Byzantine text-type) version is now available, using the World English Bible (WEB) and the Robinson-Pierpont 2005 (RP 2005) Greek text. However, not all features of the WEB have been activated yet, and the RP 2005 file only includes transliterated Greek, so only the lemmas are available for footnote options. Also, minor changes were made to the cover pages and footers. Samples will be uploaded when the WEB import is fully debugged.

NHEB Now Available

The New Heart English Bible (NHEB) is a public domain version based on the Critical Text rather than the Majority Text. The file does not have paragraphs, pericopes, or translator's notes but I included it to have a complete, distributable option. Also, up to 8 footnotes can now be printed (from a growing list of choices) and the website, blog, and email addresses are printed on the covers.

Nestle 1904 Now Available

Dr. Ulrik Sanborg-Petersen recently parsed the Nestle 1904 Greek text, and it is now available in The BRIDGE Bible. A new sample is now available using this text, and it also includes some new footnote options (a third footnote is now available*, and the footnote source is now configurable). Also, the Config Scope section of the Config page has been slightly improved.

*More can be added if needed.
