Feeding the Author (Page)

The RSS feed from this blog is now linked to the author page on Amazon: https://amazon.com/author/bobvorick. That should facilitate receiving and responding to feedback. I am eager to interact with anyone interested in this project.

Now Available in the Kindle Store!

This finally reached the point at which it could be published in the Kindle Store. There are two editions available: the Standard Edition, which embodies the original vision of a study Bible; and the Reference Edition, which features the Greek text and tools of an interlinear Bible. There are $0.99 sample versions of each containing only the Sermon on the Mount (but with all the features of the full-size versions). The easiest way to find them all together is to visit the "author page" at https://amazon.com/author/bobvorick. Here is a list of the individual titles.
I thank God that he saw this project through to completion, and it continues to be in his faithful, sovereign hands, for his glory alone.

Expanding E-books

There is now a working prototype of an EPUB version of The BRIDGE Bible, for people who don't have or don't wish to use the Kindle version but still want an electronic edition of The BRIDGE Bible. There will be both 2.0 and 3.0 formats available. Watch this space for more information and updates.

Greek Week

Three new Greek texts added: Textus Receptus (Scrivener 1894), Westcott-Hort (1881), and Robinson-Pierpont (2000). The goal is to pair these with their associated English translations: King James Version (KJV, 1769), American Standard Version (ASV, 1901), and World English Bible (WEB, 2012 and earlier). This sets the stage for 4 correlated versions: KJV / TR, ASV / WH, Byzantine / RP2000, and Alexandrian (using Nestle 1904 and New Heart English Bible, already imported), once the remaining translations are imported. More information about all of these texts is available on The BRIDGE Bible website.

New Inverted Editions

Field testing of the Kindle version showed that it would be very helpful to include the translated verse along with each footnote. And someone suggested offering the Greek as the primary text, with the translation in the footnotes. Both of these concepts have now been implemented, as options. So, the main text on top can be either English or Greek, and the the footnotes below can include the English, in addition to (or instead of) the Greek (for a total of 9 concurrent footnote options), in both the printed and Kindle versions. This proved to be much more difficult to create than anticipated, but is now available. A small sample of new formats enabled by this change is available in the "Inverted" portion of the "Examples" section of The BRIDGE Bible Website. Please respond with any questions, suggestions, or comments. Thank you.

BAV/BBV Available

The BRIDGE Byzantine Version (BBV) and BRIDGE Alexandrian Version (BAV) and are now available. The BBV is based on the World English Bible (WEB) and the BAV is based on the New Heart English Bible (NHEB). The NHEB is based on the WEB, which is derived from the American Standard Version (ASV). The BBV and BAV both include section headings (pericopes) from the Lexham English Bible (LEB). The WEB and NHEB are public domain, but since the BBV and BAV include some edits (adding pericopes, tweaking the punctuation, etc.), I needed to come up with new names for them. They aren't intended to be "new" translations, but simply minor derivatives of the WEB and NHEB.
